In the Beginning...an interview with Pam & Kathy
What caused you to start a ministry like this?
Pam: One day at lunch with a few ladies, we began discussing the latest home decorating shows. Everyone shared the different ideas and projects they were tackling in their homes. One lady laughed and commented, “I’ve redecorated every room. I guess I’ll have to move.” I drove away from lunch that day wondering, “Is this really all there is for women who desire to use creativity?” From that moment, the Lord placed a desire in my heart to see women use their God-given abilities to inspire others.
Is this when the weekly Bible study began?
Pam: Yes. I developed a 10-week course that directed ladies into Bible study while learning creative skills through workshop guests and Great Ideas! Every Tuesday morning, we investigated how painting, jewelry-making, composing, cooking, etc., could be both expressions of worship and service.
So where does Kathy come in?
Kathy: One week Pam invited me to be a guest in her Creative Friendzy Bible study. I went prepared to share the joy of writing and left challenged to find a way to see this offered to many more women. Pam approached me with the idea of partnering with her to develop a broader program that would be far-reaching.
Has this arrangement worked well?
Pam: (laughs) It has. Although I must admit we work better together over chips and salsa with a side of chocolate.
Kathy: Seriously, we both marvel at how God has directed us and blessed our friendship.
What would you tell women that want to start a Creative Friendzy in their area?
Pam: We’re glad you asked! Visit the entire web site and see how easy it is to help women discover their own gifts and use them for a spiritual purpose.
How can I start a Creative Friendzy Group?
