Community: I paused for a moment...
I took a walk yesterday and paused for a moment. I wanted to savor what I was experiencing—crisp air, leaves rustling and the scent of wood burning from a nearby chimney. Ahhhhhhh, autumn is a magnificent time of year.
I’m not a farmer, but I still get excited to see the orchards brimming with beautiful produce. Cider pressed from freshly picked apples becomes an amazing treat that happens at only this time of year.
Harvest means everyone sets aside routine schedules for a specific time of gathering. Maybe you won’t be gathering wheat or corn—but look around. A harvest of friends could be ripe for the pickin’.
Proverbs 25:11 (NIV) “A word aptly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver.”
Why not gather your friendz for an “Apples of Gold” party? Ask them to bring a dish that has apple as an ingredient. Decorate in gold, silver and apples. Then over dinner, encourage one another with kind words and insights.
